NVIDIA Jetson Nano Parts/Components List

If you are purchasing NVIDIA’s Jetson Nano and want to know what all components you will need before you can dive in, I have created this post to list down everything you will need to get started.

  1. The NVIDIA Jetson Nano B01: B01 is a newer version with a few changes on the board. Since it’s the latest version, go with it. Click here to buy.
  2. A WiFi USB Adapter: Unlike Raspberry Pi 3B, Jetson Nano doesn’t have WiFi and Bluetooth module built-in. You will have to add it externally. The simplest way is to purchase a WiFi USB adapter and plug it into one of the USB ports. However, not all adaptors are supported. So you need to make sure the one you are purchasing is supported by Nano. I have tried and tested this adapter by TP-Link. It’s small, offers good speed and the company also offers good support.   3. microSD card: Minimum is 16GB and people have used as high as 200GB without any hiccups. I won’t suggest a 16GB card as you will quickly run out of space. A 64GB card will serve you well in most cases without having to worry about space issues. Now again, not all cards are supported, you need to be sure which one to buy. NVIDIA specifies the card has to be UHS-1 to work fine. Still, cards from some companies don’t work well. Also, avoid purchasing a card from a small accessory store, as chances are the card won’t be genuine. If in case you need one urgently and don’t want to wait for delivery, buy from a credible store, and call up the company and confirm with them that the card is genuine.   4. Power Bank: This is the easiest way to power your board. Simply plug a USB from the power bank to the micro USB port on Nano and you can get started. A power bank offers much more stable voltage and goes for the ones which offer slightly higher than 2A. This one outputs 5V 2.4A. Click here to buy.
