Template for making pure HTML+CSS websites that score 100 in Google Page Insights
I have always wanted to make minimal websites, with no clutter, no unwanted components or libraries, doing things with just html and css as far as possible.
A perfect website would score a 100 in Google page insights. Proudly, this one does.
It is actually fairly easy how I developed my personal site which is minimal, scores 100, and supports dark mode.
I came across a post in hacker news which mentioned how you can make single page websites which looks like multi page website just by using html+css.
The template used for this is at john-doe.neocities.org.
The only major drawback, as discussed in the post’s comments, is that single page websites do badly in SEO and search result visibility.
Chances are, if you search ‘jash mota’, this website will not be near the top of results. So I have decided to make each article a different page, with a uniform navigation bar. This way, the website will still feel light and probably won’t suffer in visibility. I don’t really care if it doesn’t help. I would rather want the website to grow by word of mouth, so people discover it because it has some value. Else, it would just be my nice little storage for my notes.
